Leep Performed Yesterday
I have always had normal pap tests. When I went in August, the results were abnormal. The follow up pap was in December. It was extremely abnormal so they scheduled a colposcopy 2 weeks later. Immediately following the colpo, they scheduled the leep without knowing the results of the biopsy because the doctor could view the lesion. The pathology report did, in fact, reveal that it was carcinoma in situ. I went for my LEEP yesterday. Evidently, it went well. I was under anesthesia and it was definitely nice to "sleep" through the procedure. They removed all of the lesion and we should have the pathology reports within two weeks to determine if all of the margins are clear. I am a woman of faith and feel confident that the cancerous cells have been removed from my body. I am 28 and have been married for almost 2 years. My husband and I wanted to start trying to conceive in June. The doctor said she wants me to have 4 normal paps over the next year before we try for babies. This wasn't the news that I wanted to hear so I am hoping we can discuss this further at my follow up appt in 2 weeks. I just want to move on with my life. Anyone with similar situations?
