should a person on chemo..get a flu shot... or not?

th treatment coming up..for colon cancer..   He wants to avoid flus/colds this winter.. and has always gotten a flu shot..  but this year is obviously different.   What does one do?..  He of course will ask doctor..when he can get appt.. but just wondering.thank you.. Christine.....
