new to cancer

Ok - so it's been 2months since my colonoscopy and subsequent surgery for colon cancer and suddenly i'm very scared - cancer was found because i had a routine colonoscopy (mother diagnosed at 72 - i had 1st colo at 40 and then subsequent one this year).  the tumor must have really presented itself as I was having the colonoscopy on tuesday and was operated on on weds.  Thankfully, it was stage 1 level 2 (only 8 lymphnodes tested but all negative).  Oncologist said no chemo or radiation.  surgeon doesn't need to see me for 3 months...... is this ok???My husband is a doctor so I'm thinking they're thinking he'll cover things- it really doesn't work that way (think shoemaker's kids) Just...
